Is An Amstaff A Good First dog?

Amstaffs are very affectionate and loyal dogs who love being near people. They make great family pets but they can be too friendly with strangers.

If you’re looking to adopt an Amstaff as a first dog, they probably won’t be the best choice.

You will need to socialize your new puppy with other dogs, children, and strangers on a daily basis until he learns that everyone is safe to approach.

This is because Amstaffs are notorious for chasing anything that moves!

What does this mean for you? It means that unless your home environment has plenty of opportunities for interaction with other animals, dogs, and people, your new Amstaff may not feel comfortable enough to adjust.

Keep in mind, that too much socialization at a young age can make some pups fearful of everything.

If your home is unfriendly towards dogs, an Amstaff may never feel comfortable there either.

As such, an excellent first dog for someone who can commit time to him or her from day one is another breed that also requires a lot of socialization (and supervision) from a young age.

Consider adopting another dog later on if you don’t want to deal with the initial training process again or if you live in an apartment where it isn’t possible to keep several animals outside at once.

Are Amstafs good dogs for first time owners?

Amstaffs are very affectionate and loyal dogs who love being near people. They make great family pets but they can be too friendly with strangers.

Is an American Staffy a good family dog?

An American Staffy is a great first dog for many families. They are very loyal and affectionate to their human companions.

They are not as aggressive as an Amstaff and they are easier to housebreak.
They come in three sizes: toy, small and medium.

Their hair is short, so they don’t need much grooming, but they still need a daily walk or two to stay healthy.

An American Staffy is a bit more energetic than an Amstaff, but that can be mitigated by giving them plenty of play time with you or other family members.

If you live in a big city and don’t have room for another pet, an American Staffy may work well for you! You’ll just have to socialize your new pup from day one.

Should I get an American Staffy?

The American Staffy is an excellent choice for a first dog because it’s a high-energy breed that can be great with children and other dogs.

It also doesn’t require excessive amounts of socialization like the Amstaff.

When you adopt an American Staffy as your first dog, you will experience some initial training and adjustment period as they learn their role as a member of the family.

At the same time, they’ll have a lot of energy to burn off and be able to keep up with your busy lifestyle!
