Anglish Staffy Vs American Staffy

The English Shepherd is a breed of dog that has existed for hundreds of years.

They originated in England and were used as farm dogs to guard livestock.

Today the English Shepherd is still used as a farm dog but they are also very popular with people who have acreages, lawns, or gardens and want a dog to keep these safe.

The English Shepherd’s personality makes them an excellent watchdog and they are often considered excellent pets for families with children.

However, they are not recommended for apartments or townhouses due to their herding instinct.

The American Staffordshire Terrier was developed from various terrier breeds mainly from the border country of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Ireland.

They were specifically bred to be large, strong dogs with a high prey drive that made them excellent at hunting large animals such as boars, foxes, and badgers.

These dogs have ears that turn toward danger and they will alert you to any potential dangers in your surroundings such as sounds, smells, or movements by barking or growling slightly.

Are English Staffies and Pitbulls the same?

Some people believe that an English Staffy is a type of pitbull. However, this is not true and is simply a misconception.

The English Staffy has its own breed standard which was created in 1877 to help differentiate the two breeds.

They are also protected by the British government and labeled as a “type” of dog with no specific characteristic other than being a herding breed.

However, there are some similarities between the two breeds:
-Both dogs have a stocky build
-Both dogs have eyes that turn toward danger
-Both dogs have ears that stand erect and can hear sounds from far away

Are English Staffies vicious?

No, English Staffies are not vicious. They have a good temperament and make excellent pets for families with children.

How many different types of Staffies are there?

There are a few different types of English Staffies.

The first is the original breed from which all other types were developed, the second is a cross-bred type called the American Staffordshire Bull Terrier and then there are also the American Pit Bull Terrier, the Boxer, and some mixes.

The American Staffordshire Terrier is one of the most popular breeds today with its size, activity level, and energy.

They can also be used as a guard dogs but they often do not have the level of obedience that an English Staffy has.

The English Shepherd is smaller than other breeds meaning they are easier to manage in small areas such as apartments or townhouses.

They are gentle dogs when raised properly by owners and make excellent family pets for those with children but without any hunting instincts, they can’t be used as guard dogs.

Both dogs have their own set of pros and cons so it’s really just about what you’re looking for in your new companion.

What’s the difference between American Staffy and Pitbull?

The difference between the American Staffy and Pitbull is that the American Staffordshire Terrier is an extremely intelligent, strong, and independent breed of the dog while the Pitbull is more commonly used as a fighting dog.

Although they have similar appearances, the American Staffy has a much higher prey drive than the Pitbull.

The American Staffy also has a very low tolerance for being handled by strangers and will not tolerate being picked up by anyone other than their owner or people who are familiar with them.

The American Staffy is also very hard to train and can be difficult to housebreak.

The English Shepherd on the other hand does not have such negative traits.

They are very easy to train, are known for being friendly towards children, and make great watchdogs, and protectors of property.

They are gentle but also fiercely protective of their family so they do require some training or behavioral modification in order to become well-socialized dogs.
